115mm · purple blossom, gold leaf
01/The material
Real blossoms, suspended in optical resin.
Every knob is poured by hand around a real pressed stem, cured slow so the resin stays water-clear, then turned, sanded and polished through nine grits until the surface reads like glass. No two are identical, because no two blossoms are.
Hand-poured resin, never injection moulded Made to order since 2009 — United States

Pink blossom, blue glitter base
The short one. Sits low in the hand and keeps the gate tight — built for quick-shifting cars where a tall knob would fight you.
Optical-grade resin goes into the mould in thin layers so the blossom can be placed, turned and held exactly where it should sit. Too fast and the resin traps air; too slow and it clouds.

The blank is turned true, faced flat, and a brass insert is set on axis so the knob threads square to the shifter. Off by half a degree and you feel it every gear change.

Nine grits, wet, by hand, then compound. This is the stage that decides whether the flower looks set in glass or set in plastic. It is also the stage nobody can rush.

05/Story
Fifteen years at the same bench.
Mr Grip has been making interior parts since 2009 — shift knobs first, then steering wheels, mirrors and window cranks. Four heights, one thread standard, and a workshop that has never made two the same.
It started because the knob that came with the car felt like nothing at all. One silicone mould, poured after hours. The first dozen clouded. The thirteenth did not, and it has been the same bench ever since.
Glitter was easy and everyone was doing it. Pressed blossoms were harder — they browned, they floated, they moved while the resin set. Solving that took years and became the whole point of the shop.
Requests kept arriving for taller, shorter, wider. Rather than make everything, the range was cut to four heights on one 12mm x 1.25 insert, with reducers in every box so it fits almost anything.
Steering wheels, mirrors, window cranks, shift boots — the same hand and the same restraint applied to everything you touch while driving. Still made to order. Still one at a time. Custom work by request.
06/Owners
Quietly obsessed.
“Every single person who gets in the car reaches for it. Every one.”
Jason · 140mm ivory & pink
“I expected a novelty. It is genuinely the nicest-feeling thing in the interior.”
Andy · 115mm black blossom
“Threaded on square first try, and the reducers meant I did not have to hunt for an adapter.”
