Custom Shift Knobs at Mr Grip: What "Custom" Actually Means

We've been hand-pouring shift knobs since 2009, and "can you make me a custom one?" is one of the questions we get asked the most. Here's what that actually involves.

What does "custom" mean for a resin shift knob?

Because each knob is poured by hand rather than mass-produced, the color, the object or motif set inside the resin, and the size can all be specified before it's made — it's not an add-on process bolted onto a standard product, it's how every knob is already built.

How do I start a custom request?

Custom requests go through direct message on Instagram @mr__grip, since that's where we can go back and forth on details — color, size, what you want set inside it — before anything is poured.

Will a custom knob still fit my car?

Fitment is handled the same way regardless of the design: every knob is threaded 12mm x 1.25 with 10mm x 1.25, 10mm x 1.50 and 8mm x 1.25 reducers included. If your shifter uses something outside that range, tell us before we start and we'll confirm honestly whether it'll work.

How long does a custom order take?

Custom pieces are made to order, the same as the rest of the range, so turnaround runs a bit longer than a piece we already have in stock. We'll give you a realistic timeline when we confirm the request, and you'll get a notification the moment it ships.
